Ò Designate a specific place to receive incoming mail.
Ò Mail should be received so that client confidences will be protected
Ò Give a specific person responsibility
Ò All incoming mail should be date stamped.
Ò It is usually not necessary to save envelopes.
Ò other receipt of mail forms should be recorded and attached to the appropriate document in the file.
Ò Any returned mail or change of address should be noted and entered into the system.
Ò Checks should be recorded as receipt and immediately given to bookkeeper to process as appropriatly as possible.
